  • The periodontist will carry out a root therapy which may include cleaning of your gum pockets to remove plaques and bacteria. The treatment may need you to get a local anaesthetic as some patients experience discomfort during the treatment.
  • If your periodontist cannot access your gum pocket or your treatment fails, you may have to undergo surgery.
