Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a pseudo (false) tooth put on teeth that has gaps and held by a supporting tooth (abutment). The materials used to make the tooth can be customised to fit your requirements. At least 1 out of 5 adults is suffering from one form of cavity of the other. Do you have gaps or missing teeth, a dental bridge can cover them up.

Why we recommend dental bridges

  • To ensure you have a radiating and complete smile
  • Gives your face a properly aligned structure
  • It ensures you can chew food properly
  • It ensures that the fixed teeth don’t fall out of place.
  • It enables you to eat and talk at the same time

Method we use to apply dental bridges

First of all, our dentist would examine your teeth to determine the best way of applying the bridge. Afterwards, preparation takes place where measurements and impressions will be taken by our dental technician. Next, we would equip you with a temporary bridge pending when the permanent one is ready.

When the stipulated time has passed, you would then return to our dental clinic for the fitting of the permanent bridge. After final adjustments are made, our dentist would successfully mount the bridge on your teeth to ensure you have a good bite and fit. The time frame needed to fully create the bridge is about 2 weeks. If you have more than one missing tooth, ensure you ask our dentist about alternative replacement options. Dental bridges have so many perks, and these should be considered before opting in for any dental procedure.

How many dental visits do you need?

For dental bridges, you can contact us at Addiscombe dental practice, and we would ensure that the whole process is over in just 2 visits. If we have to extract a tooth first, we would first schedule a visit for extraction before the dental bridge procedure can begin.

What to expect while undergoing this procedure

After tooth removal, the dentist will look for a suitable solution to fill the gap. It is suggested that to quicken your healing process, a temporary bridge be fitted for a minimum of 3 – 6 months to ensure the final bridge has a better appearance, shape and fit.

During your initial dental visit, your support teeth will be made by taking impressions. On average, it takes between 7 to 14days to handcraft a bridge, but a temporary one will be fitted in the meanwhile.

How durable are dental bridges?

We assure you that with regular care, your dental bridges would last you for at least 10 – 15 years.
